Ashanti Elie, a senior at Rocklin Whitney High in California, won the girls high jump with a third-attempt clearance at 5-8 (1.72m) at the Gateway to Track and Field Invitational at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium. Elie also contributed to a runner-up finish in the 4x100-meter relay in 49.56 and finished fifth in the 100-meter dash in a wind-legal 12.51 seconds.
